How Hard Drives Store Data?
Have you ever thought or wondered about working of the hard drive. How the hard drive does work and stores data? How can you check status of your partitions and file systems?
You can easily view configuration of the partitions like File System, Capacity, and Free Space etc through Computer Management application with Windows XP. To view Computer Management, do this;
1. Select the “My Computer” icon on your desktop.
2. Click the right mouse button and select the Manage option.
3. The Computer Management screen will be displayed. Select Disk Management from the list.
The available partitions with their configurations will be displayed.

The above screen displays three partitions namely, C (NTFS), D (FAT32) and E (FAT32).
